Renowned surrealist sculptor and painter Jaume Sans hung out with Picasso, Dalí, and Calder in pre-Spanish Civil War Barcelona and later originated furniture designs in his own household. Pie de Salón from 1963 features a polished brass or chrome-plated shaft luxuriously clad in leather on a tripod base.
